I tried to paint the rusty exhaust of Cross Cub 50.

First, loosen the 12mm exhaust pipe joint nut.

Next, remove the 19mm swingarm pivot nut that holds the muffler. It’s tightened hard, so it may be good to apply a lubricant etc.

I tried to remove it in this state, but the step is still caught and I could not remove it.

So, remove the step. Loosen the 4 bolts (12mm) at the bottom.

Then, remove the heat guard. In my case, the screw was stuck so I applied oil.

Clean the removed parts.

By the way, The entrance of the exhaust pipe with 20,000 km running is like this.

Remove oil with parts cleaner and mask.

After it dries, paint it with heat resistant paint.

Let it dry and then apply several coats.

Install in reverse order and done!
